Cha Cha Char Wine Bar & Grill is a stylish, contemporary restaurant specialising in high quality, cooked to perfection steaks.

While enjoying sweeping views of the Brisbane River, diners peruse a menu unlike any other: each meat's breed, paddock address, age (12 months to 30 months and older), size (200g to 600g), accompaniments and diet (grass fed/grain fed) is provided. The menu also features shots of rare, medium rare, medium and well done steaks to help diners choose their preferred style.

The consistent quality of the meat offered is substantially due to the fact that the restaurateur John Kilroy is a nationally recognised beef judge. He is constantly showcasing beef to the hospitality industry where discussions range from the breed of cattle, feed type and age of the carcass. There are many variables to take into account to put a good steak on the plate.

John sources the beef direct from producers and suppliers and ages it for five weeks, giving diners a chance to taste different breeds, brands and regions. For non-meat lovers, there is an extensive non - beef menu available at Char and Executive Chef Richard Brown has recently introduced new menu options featuring a "lighter side of beef" designed for those on a restricted time schedule.
